Fender Standard JB MiJ 1988

I’m after some advice about the serial number on this MIJ standard jazz bass - there is some damage around the bottom of the headstock which due to the year (1988) is understandable however the decal looks to be stuck on aftermarket?. Is this normally expected as the remainder of the decals (the logo etc) appear perfectly - any advice appreciated. I’m wondering whether it’s genuine and was standard for the fujigen basses at the time, or the sticker has been applied afterwards?.

I've had 3 Fender MIJ basses from around this time, they all have had a slightly opaque serial number decal, I would say it's genuine

If you had concerns about the bass I would be inclined to include more pictures so other evidence could be considered. The experts on here have little to go on (accepting that your query relates to the serial alone at this point).
