wateroftyne Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 (edited) Hey gang I’ve just finished reading this marvellous new book about Tony Stratton Smith, a remarkable and secretive chap. Well worth a few hours of your time, even if you just have a passing interest… https://www.waterstones.com/book/strat/chris-groom/chris-charlesworth/9781912782611 Edited July 16, 2021 by wateroftyne 5 Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 I have a pile of books to get through, but I'm definitely checking this one out. Thanks for the tip 👍 Quote
Mickeyboro Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Interesting, Michael. I guess you are coming from the Lindisfarne angle. I read the unedited original before Chris Charlesworth was brought in. Hopefully CC has turned it into something readable! Quote

Lindisfarne & Genesis, really, Can't comment on CC's contribution, but it's certainly very readable. Quote
Mickeyboro Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 In which case he has improved it! Here is his take. http://justbackdated.blogspot.com/2021/06/strat-charismatic-life-times-of-tony.html?m=1 Quote

Full disclosure - the author is a good friend of mine (no freebies though - I bought my copy with my own cash monies). We can all be thankful there’s a Strat book out there now, and it’s a good’un. I always think it after I’ve read books from this era, but… what a time to be alive. Gutted I missed it. Quote
wateroftyne Posted July 16, 2021 Author Posted July 16, 2021 …nice to see a vaguely bitter post in the comments from Jonathan King on the Chris Charlesworth link above. Ha ha. Quote
