Not sure on origin of the body, may have been a Squire body, I know I had to get the back pickup route made longer to accommodate a bridge jazz pickup at the back, hence the hunch of a squire 90’s body. I had the neck refretted.and the board planned/sanded straight and the truss adjuster at the heel replaced making it a dream to play. The neck is sanded so no lacquer on the back and Is very smooth and fast to play. It is alleged that the neck belonged to the original bass player from the Quireboys, means nothing I know. Body is a heavy alder I believe. Pickups are after market replacements, basic Chinese ones but sound as they should, plenty of burp and a nice fat slap tone. The tuners are in badged open gears and stay solidly in tune. Plenty of chips and grazes to the body, a true work horse. All wiring and pots are switch craft and have correct caps etc. weighs around 11lb so not the lightest of basses. Plain neck plate, no aerie number and the bridge is a Fender vintage reissue.
