lowregisterhead Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Wow. Precisely this model and finish was my very first bass, bought second hand from a local music shop for the princely sum of £30 in 1975. The only difference with mine was a previous owner had taken out the neck pickup and put a huge Gibson mudbucker in its place. Bizarrely, I watched Get Carter in its entirety for the first time just last week, and I did wonder whether the bass in the bar scene was a Baldwin! Takes me back. GLWTS. 1

I definitely do think it's the same bass as the one in the film (the flamed maple on the headstock in the film looks to match), but I've not been able to find anything to 100% validate it. The band weren't credited on the film, so that makes it even trickier... It is a lovely bass though & has a lovely thump on the front pickup - if I had more space in the house I'd be hanging on to it!
