KK Jale
I have this P pickup. It came in a cream cover and I wanted to switch to black so I offered up some covers from to see if they'd fit - a Japanese Fender cover and a Lollar one. Nope. It seems that whereas many P pickups are 29mm this one is spaced at 28mm, which is just enough to make a regular cover not fit... not without filing the holes oval. TL:DR: anyone have any ideas? PaulThePlug
bay - Pair of CLOSED PICKUP COVERS in BLACK, CREAM or WHITE to fit USA P Bass guitar - and drill ya own holes?
hooky_lowdown
I think this is a manufacturing thing, in the same way Japanese specs are slightly different from Western (i.e Europe and US), especially when it comes to Fender's. I have japanese pickups which are slightly bigger (wider), which don't directly fit into "standard" P bass covers.
KK Jale
@PaulThePlug cheers! Not impossible but hellish tricky to do really accurately without a pillar drill IMO... Edited July 23, 2021 by KK Jale

But I was surprised to see that USA Lollar covers matched MIJ Fender while the new pickup is the odd one out.
