Not in Leicestershire. -_-  In Paris, however...

Dunno. I expect there was a certain amount of sleeping with the enemy went on during the Civil War.

Hence the expression 'a bed of roses', maybe..? :D

(Wrong war; yes, I know, but the joke doesn't work, otherwise...)

In my school, it didn't matter if you were the Son of God - if you couldn't play fookin football you never got close to one of these ...

I couldn’t play football but I was captain of the rugby team 🙂

It was the same in my junior school but I managed to buck the trend by being rubbish at football and obtaining the Captain's badge. I think I was the first one in the school history to do that. The Vice Captain was similarly disadvantaged at football so when our house played football we suddenly had the other 9 players on our team acting as captain!
