That's gotta be worth a badge...

I cheated my 25 yds swimming cert as a kid by just walking along the bottom, splashing my arms about in a "convincing manner".... Mugs ;)

You, young man, were only cheating yourself.

I think we should keep the statuses, but make it more bass relevant…….

The lowest rank could be “Adam Clayton” and the top rank “JJ Burnel”.

middle ranks could include the likes of Geddy Lee.

I can’t see any problems in choosing the player rankings!

Nahh.. I was cheating a bunch of sanctimonious teachers, one of which ( as I recall) was holding a clip board !

They deserved all they got.. ;)

One rare instance where you shouldn't wear your TEEBSHADES™

you see how he loses that menacing gravitas that he naturally posesses in the original photograph

I'm more troubled by the increased similarity to a Womble.

You piqued my curiosity there so I checked them out...and fck me, the Wombles had a Rickenbacker bass, who'd have thought..

Funnily enough I always preferred Brunel’s bridge design to his bass playing 😬 (though I’d confess to having dabbled a little with that Peaches/Beaches part more than once)

(Oo f’ck - I’ve gone from blue star to green star as a result of that merrie jape 😂 apparently I’m now ‘proficient’, only taken me 9 yrs…….what are you on Basschat - I remember being declared proficient quite a number of decades ago 😬

Many of the better groups did - isn’t one of those costumed gentlemen the renowned producer and writer Mike Batt (just to disprove the Talkbass and SBL theory the producer will blow a fuse and send you home if you don’t turn up with a Precision).

I'd just assumed they'd be costumed "actors" doing TOTP !

Mike Batt formed The Wombles Band, and performed on TOTP as Orinoco.  The guitarist was none other than renowned session ace Chris Spedding, along with drumming legend Clem Cattini.
