WreckLoose Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 hi everyone, im working on an art project I need some assistance with building an instrument but i am no musician. . I been beating up an old washtub bass at bonfires for 25+ yrs but besides that i never even picked up a stringed instrument, I recently learned that a piezo disk connected to a jack will make an electrified gutbucket, so i set out to make one. of course i am familiar with Les in his monkeymask. so the electric gutbucket turned into a whamola, that has evolved as i learn about all the components available and Im overwelmed trying to sort out what is compatible and how to wire them, so now im reaching out to a few places in hopes someone can school me a little bit. I got some parts narrowed down but i dont know where to ask since it could fall into several categories. thanx Quote

skankdelvar Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 (edited) Welcome to the forum. Heres a YT vid about electrifying a washtub bass. Basically, don't attach a disc piezo to the body of the washtub; stick an guitar undersaddle piezo to the bolt. Edited July 27, 2021 by skankdelvar Quote
