Anaconda Basses...any good?

Recently seen these basses online and they look very good value for money and sound great.

 

I'm just wondering how they stack up against other custom UK luthiers like Sei, Overwater, Shuker etc. 

 

I particularly like the look of the Ultra J - Essense Series. Any experience?

That’s a really nice looking jazz,  I don’t know much about them but I really like this one

I've had a full fat Anaconda which was excellent (gratuitous bass pic below).  Not tried the Essence series although I saw a few on here f/s and they were getting positive comments.

I know a few people who play them. I’m assured by them that they’re fantastic instruments.

The essence range is made of the Far East so they’re a bit expensive compared to a Sire V7. They seem to be more popular in US than here, I’ve seen quite a few over on TB.

I have a custom base built by Andrew (Anaconda) build quality is top notch. I wanted a bright 5 sting PJ as my main working tool in a funk band.

The bass is very comfortable to play, fast and the tone is what I was looking for for the job. Andrew is a real gent. His Essence range is superb for the price and much better in my view than a Sire ( having owned one). Andrew is fussy about what goes out, anything going through Andrew's hand is going to pass muster.

At twice the price, you’d hope so. They’re US Fender money!
