Stub Mandrel Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Much as I love the 'Basses on the Settee' topic, it's not really the best way to show off most basses 🙂 During the heatwave (remember when it wasn't raining?) an entire wall I'd covered with two layers of lining paper peeled off down to te dado rail, held on only by the guitar hangers. Well, I realised if I put a hanger back up before redecorating, I had a lovely arty but neutral background to photograph some basses. So here are seven of my babies (not including headless or my too-long acoustic), in order of approximate age: Mid-70s Maya Fretless (MIJ): 1985 Fender Performer (MIJ): Circa 1985 Westone Thunder 1 (MIJ): 2002 Squier Jazz Bass (Indonesia): 2018/9 Squier Jaguar Short Scale (Indonesia): 2019 Fender Flea Signature Jazz (Reliced '63, Mexico): Deathburger (from Harley Benton Kit, only body, neck and part of loom original, light relic) 2020, (UK): 10 Quote

Less than a MIJ Squier P-bass of the same era. Quote
theyellowcar Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I’m about to hang my basses on the wall for the first time - with much trepidation I might add - any tips from the experts here are very much welcome! Quote

Make sure you use long enough screws, and don't put it so far down that your pigeons can land on it 2 Quote

Don't use the fixings that come with the hangers I go overkill and use 7mm rawlplugs and the screws that come with them or whatever decent plugs and screw brands you like will do but don't go cheap it's a recipe for disaster 1 Quote
