Geek99 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 (edited) I have this active bass and I got it out of storage on Friday. I replaced the battery. I put it straight to amp through two or three different cables and it buzzes on all strings when played - worse on lower strings does the same if sent straight to a zoom b2.1u and headphones Is the preamp burned out somehow, I’m wondering, and what would I replace it with ? Geek99 Posted August 6, 2021 Author Posted August 6, 2021 Addendum - when played acoustically is very clear so not a badly cut nut, poor string winding on peg, high fret etc Quote

Sounds like a grounding issue Quote

Geek99 Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Possibly - it’s been sitting in a gig bag in the cupboard so it’s not like it’s had trauma I’ll open it up tonight and have a look plugged in so I’ll know if it clears Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 One of the capacitors on the preamp is wonky, is it still attached? Quote
Geek99 Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 It’s stopped mysteriously - unsure why Quote
Geek99 Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 Possibly you’re right / rummaging around for those photos knocked something back into place Quote
