Doddy Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 That sucks for the subscribers. I picked mine up midweek from my local shop. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I may have to subscribe as Borders is going t*ts up & they were my local stockist. Quote
xilddx Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 Got mine from WH Smith today, there's a small feature by ped on the BC SE Bass Bash, with photo. Quote

ped Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Aye I would really like to see it - can someone PM me a scan? I won;t be able to get the mag until the weekend. ped Quote
BassBus Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Are things OK at BGM? Delivery seems to be getting later and later every month. Good to know it is out there somewhere. Quote
Russ Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) It's definitely improved lately, judging on the last issue I was able to get a hold of (the Squarepusher issue... paid $11 for it!). The instrument reviews were more cohesive (with more info about stuff you'd actually want to know), the interviews were good... in fact, all that was wrong with that issue was Tom Jenkinson's chav-tastic bright orange trackie top on the cover.
I'm not comfortable about openly sharing content from the mag without their permission, to be honest - maybe if it weren't the current issue, but I don't want anyone to get told off for copyright infringement. Sorry if that sounds mean spirited. By the way, I went out and bought this issue in my local WH Smiths - I'm not a subscriber. It does sound like the post has delayed many subscribers from getting their copies. Quote
bethnalgreen Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I phoned them yesterday (twice) - they gave me a story about "late to printers" etc and had to get them out to shops ahead of subscribers. Should be with us subscribers any day they say ...... Quote
Bassmurf Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Still haven't got mine yet. I subscribe and have done for about 5 years and I'm sure I used to get my copy before it hit the shops like other mags I subscribe to! Dan Edited December 1, 2009 by Bassmurf Quote
Geek99 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Do they use different printers for subscribers then? Seriously, why don't they put a message on their website? Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I picked my copy up today in WHSmiths. It's nice to see Basschat getting the plug despite misspellings and old photos. Curious to know who is in the photo. Quote
Geek99 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Am I going blind or have the mp3 files been moved or deleted from their site? Quote
BassBus Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 This sounds like excuses that have been used by other music mags that have folded in the past. If they can't get mags out to subscribers before the shops that's pretty poor service. We are, after all, the people who give them regular income. What future for BGM??? Quote
gafbass02 Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 i SO hope it survives, i really enjoy it and always have. just thankful to have a bass mag tbh, the US one is just awful (imho of course!) Quote
jezzaboy Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 I know it`s quite a specialist magazine but I do think that it`s a bit Kate Moss: bloomin thin. Jez Quote

radansey Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Interesting how Andrew McKinney's 62 Fender Precision has morphed into a Squier Precision in the photo on page 28. Quote
