Hobbayne
I got this remix yesterday. It is so much better with the wall of sound removed. You can hear so much more that was buried under Spectors production. Nice to hear the great Klaus Voorman drop a clanger at 2.01 which went unnoticed till I picked it up. 😊 So much more clarity in this remix, albeit a bit pricey for casual fans. Nail Soup
Out of interest, what has changed from the WOS version to make it sound clearer?

In simple terms, they've scraped as much of the reverb off as possible, and remixed it. Night and day. 1
lowdown
Bobby Whitlock's take on the remix and remaster.... I must admit, judging by the OP video soundtrack, I agree with him. Unless, of course, that OP video is not a true representation of what was released on vinyl (I can't imagine it is). In fairness, Coco Carmel does say that the Stream version sounds better. lowdown
I can't seem to find it, but I'm pretty sure there was a 2014 remaster knocking around as well. Edited August 8, 2021 by lowdown
Hobbayne
He must be talking about the original mix. 😁 I think it sounds fantastic. I remember reading somewhere that Harrisons family tried to stop his youtube videos. Edited August 8, 2021 by Hobbayne

casapete
George’s son Dhani is guesting on Johnnie Walker’s Radio 2 show right now, very interesting stuff about the new boxed set and the new versions etc. Will be available on IPlayer too I should imagine. Thanks - I had reverb down as the prime suspect…. but I’m not often correct in these matters!

Or… scrapped away the inherent Phil Spector, same thing really.
