spyder Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 I'm on the look out for a new 5 string jazz type bass and came across Anaconda Basses from here in the UK. Anybody tried one? There is one at the bass gallery and wondered if any of our London based members tried it. Thanks. Quote
MNY Posted August 29, 2021 Posted August 29, 2021 I haven’t tried one but they are reputed to build really high quality basses. That being said I have seen a few for sale on here recently and most of them have hung around for a bit. That being said I can say the same for ACG and Alpher and both companies make excellent instruments. 1 Quote

EJWW Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Was looking at an Anaconda posh J for a while, one of the far east assembled ones, really nice looking instruments and if the opportunity arose again I'd definitely have a look. Quote

garyt Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 I tried a few Anaconda basses at the BG show a few years back, and they were all quality. If you’re thinking of spending that sort of cash, you should try and play one first. Quote

spyder Posted March 26, 2022 Author Posted March 26, 2022 Thanks guys for the input. Anaconda are still on my list but trying one is going to be my first priority. Quote
Chris2112 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 I haven't tried one but I follow their Facebook account and regularly marvel at Andrew's builds. They look stunning and they seem to be quite popular with professional players in the London area. Definitely worth a look, I think. I would add that I really like his original designs, though his jazz copies look cool too. Quote

The online shop still has some tasty examples left. 1 Quote
ead Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 I used to own this one. Lovely bass with plenty of tonal options with all the coil switching options. 1 Quote
