Saul Panzer Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 I'm a sucker for the various "off-white" shades, usually sold as antique white or vintage white. Pair it with a dark fretboard and a matching white headstock and you've hit peak hotness imho. Quote
Dood Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Those who know me on Basschat will know my obsession with Chameleon Flip Paint which has been going on for nigh on 20 years 🤣. Here’s a few of my basses. 8 Quote
Reggaebass Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Just browsing a few basses as usual ,and there’s a 62RI jazz for sale in what’s called, Rare Caribbean Mist, I’ve never heard of this colour being on a fender, looks good though 7 Quote

I nearly broke but just splurged my money on something else. Edited October 11, 2021 by Maude 2 Quote

Rich Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 I love the look of most natural woods -- apart from buckeye burl, which I hate. Either entirely natural or in a nice trans finish of some sort that shows off the figuring. But my perfect Jazz is either CAR or LPB, matching headstock either way. Quote

CAR , maple board, white pick guard! YUM! Especially when its a slightly darker CAR. Candy Cola is lovely too. There's a red that Dingwall do too (I'll find a pic) which is really rich, Rich. Really rich lol.. 3 1 Quote
MM Stingray 62 Posted October 11, 2021 Author Posted October 11, 2021 When it comes to natural woods I really like the look of KOA and Redwood tops. 7 Quote
rubis Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 I'm so smitten with Ice Blue Metallic that I'm planning to refinish my Sonic Blue homebuilt 3 Quote

jazzyvee Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 I prefer natural wood colour like this burl redwood bass with ebony and maple neck. 1 Quote
zbd1960 Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 I'm a fan of nice wood. Current basses are black, tobacco sunburst, and walnut. More interesting stuff is being built... Quote
SteveXFR Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Battered and ugly is my favourite look. Not deliberate relic but genuine age wear from abuse and neglect. Something like Klaus Flouride's old Jazz bass 1 1 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 (edited) I only have two basses with the same finish. I like most finishes except anything with gross sparkles (but love CAR as that's subtle). Blue burst is a favourite, but I finished a guitar in it, so recently I went for this: Edited October 13, 2021 by Stub Mandrel 5 Quote
neepheid Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 As a Gibson man, I'm guessing that translucent cherry red is an obvious choice... So happy with my 20th Anniversary JC Signature, combining cherry red (wine red, technically) with flame maple. Noice. I'm a sucker for all metallics though. Currently got a "Smoked Almond Metallic" (gold, basically) Epiphone Embassy... And a G&L CLF Research L-1000 in Royal Purple Metallic (purple, basi... oh wait, it's not a stupidly named colour) And there's something inherently classy about black with cream binding... As long as there is a colour though (not too keen on natural finishes), I'm happy. 4 Quote
Eldon Tyrell Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 I know, I know, this one may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I am still tempted to get one next year. 4 Quote
Geek99 Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Relic sunburst please though, I could be tempted by Olympic white with tort. the ACG stain with bright resin in the knots is nice though @skelf 1 Quote
Guest Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Light vintage blonde with vintage red tort pickguard, and vintage tint maple neck. Oh yeah, baby! Quote
SteveXFR Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Is it expensive to get a bass repainted? Quote
EBS_freak Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 So many finishes I love... but for me, I keep coming back to WHITE - and it looks the best under stage lights (IMHO) 2 Quote
