Bart Funk Bass
New VHS rip! Same situation as 1st Larry Graham's VHS. The clip that has been floating through the Internet for the last 20 years is really poor quality. I was able to find a mint condition copy at the Japanese auction. Now I am sharing this with you! Keep it funky and stay tuned for more! An introduction: 5
geoham
I've never heard of the guy before now, which is surprising given his credits! Looks like an interesting watch, though probably far too funky for me!
Barking Spiders
I only came across him for the first time within the last year which is surprising as I'm a big fan of slap based funk. Yet he's no spring chicken so I guess I should've
Doddy
Fantastic player, and was really nice when I briefly met him. Such a shame that he's been suffering with dementia for a few years now.
fretmeister
I'm a big fan. You can find amazing bits of his playing on his "Shockazooloo" album and on most things by Stevie Salas. What a groove!!!!!!
MacDaddy
How is he getting that pinched harmonic at 2:36? I've watched his right hand and he doesn't seem to be pinching!
Crawford13
I remember TM Stevens being on the cover of the first bass guitar magazine I ever got. I was 16 and thought that his Cort was super cool. I also remember learning New Born by Muse from that same magazine.
Bunion
Virtually every bass I’m interested in on fleabay has been credited to TM Stevens, that boy got around 😂🤣
Lord Sausage
First heard him with Vai. TM Stevens and Bozzio as a rhythm section. I was 14 and had just started playing. That's what I thought a rhythm section had to be like😆
BassBunny
Saw him at Bass Day UK in Manchester in 2008. Some fantastic tales, particularly his time with James Brown. He was supposed to have been using a laptop for his session, which he wasn't over impressed with, but the day before he was at the Guitar Show in Birmingham with Swans in Flight, so he brought them to Manchester. After his session he wandered around the trade area and was so approachable and encouraging. Really sad about his dementia.

Bart Funk Bass
I remember when Warwick took all those funk legends under their wing around 10 years ago. Check "Fuss on Buss" videos on YouTube. I think people primarily knew who he was because of Warwick videos / NAMM Show clips rather than the music he contributed to. SteveK
I first became aware of TM Stevens when I bought The Dance of Life album by Narada Michael Walden. This song, for me, is the ultimate "feel good" 70s disco track.
Bart Funk Bass
He also played bass and sang backing vocals on the entire James Brown's "Gravity" album from 1986. This is the fastest James Brown track. Super funk!

Turns out I’d already been listening to him for years due to his work with James Brown.

ern500evo
He was fantastic when he appeared at the London Bass Guitar Show. A really funny and friendly guy, with an impeccable groove. Wandered around the trade area after, chatting to everyone. So sad about his dementia
