I've yet to find a drummer that will stay on top of the beat and not drop back when the bass is dragging that much! The Funk Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I agree with you but if you ignore D'angelo, Angie Stone and t'other dude (Anthony Hamilton?), then you have a proper funk rhythm section in the guitar player (James Poyser?), Pino and ?uestlove laying down grooves that are an important extension of the funk vocabulary. I think the guitar and drums on that are outstanding even if there's not much of a song going on there. Quote
