Bigwan
I don't have the first clue about synth sounds but want to introduce more synthy elements in my tunes. I can hear in my head the sound I want, but haven't a clue how to get there. Anyone have any shortcuts? A wonderful online database of searchable songs and plugins one could use to recreate their sounds would be marvelous!
Nicko
Are you talking about a real synth or are you looking for something virtual? There are free synths such as Dexed VST that have a huge library of presets. Also since its a DX7 emulator you should be able to recreate any setting for a song with a DX7 if you can find the setting on line somewhere. Theres definitely a few youtube vids showing settings for some songs.

I'm at the stage now where I don't even know what I don't know, but even a quick search for Dx7 on youtube brings up useful videos that I could use with your suggested plugin! xgsjx
Is this into recordings or live? If live, then you'd be better off maybe getting a 2nd hand hardware synth. If it's for recording at home, then there's lots of software options.
