Almost forgot Gus basses. Not sure if those are chrome dildos or those hand rails that pensioners use to get in and out of the bath. Either way an odd choice to stick on a bass.

Impressive horns those.  I bet they'll even make a Warwick bass feel inadequate.

They aren't horns, they're marital aids!

I see them as chrome balloons, like the ones you make balloon animals out of.

Like a lot of instruments they make a lot more sense when they are actually being played rather than being viewed in isolation...

That me BTW for those of you who are relatively new to Basschat...

Same is true of most Fenders.

Doesn't stop the explosion in a chrome dildo factory winning the fugly stick prize several times over...

Just waiting for someone to post a picture of an actual chrome dildo... we all know they exist under the rule of 'If you can think it, the Internet can supply it'.

The new headless Ibanez seems to be selling very well at the moment but can't for the life of me see why. None of the lines flow.

I really like that. I think it looks great.

This has to be one of the ugliest and it sounds pretty nasty as well. It's Jerry Only of Misfits bass. He makes them himself but there was a company making and selling them for a short time, I can't remember who.

Looks like the same guy that made Princes basses and guitars.

Jerry Auerswald (DE) is the maker of selected Prince's instruments.

Is this your bedtime reading material?

I found it next to your toilet, or was it in the Bongo case...

That sort of reminds me of a “Tokai is coming” ad from the early eighties, if anyone remembers that?

Ha ha, what the actual F*@k is that 😂

Looks like the buyer has simply clicked yes to every option available on the Warmoth website and screwed it together!

There's quite a few of these style basses knocking around. They're a combination of fretless and fretted. Because.......... Why take two bottles into the shower.

I believe they're switchable between the fretless only section, the fretted only section, or both section at once.

They actually make a lot of sense if you play a set  with a lot of swapping around between fretted and fretless, but they do look utterly ridiculous!

I've seen an Ibanez like that in a shop. It was a 7 string with the lower 3 being fretless. After doing a bit of googling I came to the conclusion that church bassists love them but everyone else thinks they're stupid

Things I like about this:

The nifty fretboard markers

The pickups

The bridge

Things I don't like about this:

The body. It puts me in mind of a prop used in a pornographic, same sex cyborg movie, set in outer space.

Artwork on the body: I have no doubt that it looks great close up, but from 5 or 6 metres away, it'll just turn into a grey blur.

I bet they play beautifully and sound even better, but aesthetically... not for me, thank you.

I think that's a work of art. Absolutely stunning.
