You can't really compare vintage stuff with modern stuff. Rightly or wrongly, people buy these for the history and the vibe. I recently had the pleasure of driving a 1969 Mark 2 Jag. Compared objectively with a modern car, of any make, it was aweful - slow, heavy, thirsty, and basic. Negotiating a roundabout required a rest half way round. But it was still an awesome car!
