acidbass Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Yeah, there was a discussion on this a few months ago about the onboard valve preamp - would love to hear how it sounds! Personally I'd just go down the outboard valve route, keep as much of the wood on the body as possible for tone reasons! Quote
Buzz Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 That looks horrid, and those knobs are really small (fnarr) which probably make them unusable. Then you've got the added fact of valve drawing power from a battery, and inside a bass, where it's going to have to be secured so it doens't come loose and you lose all sound. Novel concept, but not one that should have seen reality imo. Quote

Buzz Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 It might be, but you cannot be insisting that a bass manufacturer would delve into poor taste and do a joke on April The 1st? Shirly? Quote
Marcus Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 (edited) Total April fool...... it's just the front of now defunkt SA200 photoshopped onto a bass..... LOL !! "All the features that made the SA200 so desirable....." LMAO Edited April 1, 2009 by Marcus Quote

waynepunkdude Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 [quote]you will experience some warming against your body from the resulting tube heat being diffused by the rear control plate. Dubs Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Got to love April fools Anyway, I’d have thought it would be a bit impractical to power a couple of 12AX7s from 9V batteries; would they last very long? Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 12Ax7s are abit impractical. There are plenty of other valve that would do the job at far less current draw. They used to be cheap and plentiful is probably why there are the standard preamp valve. Quote
