They look fantafabulous.

Gotta ask though..assuming you’re tuning E-G. ….how do get over “ over slackness” that one might associate with shorter scales?

Do you use heavier strings?

@alembic1989 - A lot of Alan's 'odd scale' basses come equipped with custom Newtone strings made to fit the scale of the bass. These may not be Newtone, but that's usual practice for Alan! I've had a set of custom Newtone strings on the 25" Micro-Bee I recently sold and they sound superb, you really wouldn't know your playing a micro-scale bass from the sound and tone.

Thanks for that Russ.

I don’t suppose you ever remembered where the Nuax Sauron  went?

thanks binky_bass.

Newtone strings on these two as well.

perfect ‚real‘ feel and tone and one might wonder for what reason bassists ever dealt with 34“ !?

If I didn't have an ACG a month away from completion I'd be tempted by these.

I have a 30.5" ACG that Alan made for me about 2 years ago and it really does prove that short scale and micro scale basses are now truly as good/better than the usual 34" basses.

Some of us have fat fingers!  And playing a 45" scale double bass, 34" feels like jewelry.  Still, this pair is lovely and tempting even to the larger fingered 😉
