NicoMcJ
I’m very lazy and CBF to take a fretless bass to a gig for 2 songs. Has anyone managed to get anything even slightly close to a fretless sound from a Helix/HX?

The 'Autoswell' effect in the dynamics section will fade in the volume as each note is played- set to act quickly it can soften the front of the note enough to give the right impression. If you have much in the way of fret rattle in the sustain of the note, rolling off the tone, or having an EQ do something similar, can reduce that hint of metal-on-metal in the sound. All good advice. Add a touch of Chorus and you’re golden!
Bunion
You could just take the fretless and play all the songs on it
uk_lefty
I got an acceptable fretless substitute sound using reverb and chorus, with octaver able to switch in and out. When I get home I'll look up the settings for you, it's one I put together from scratch.
