Uses the first to play the E, second on the A and so on. He gets around the instrument swiftly when he needs to. I've tried it (right handed, ofc) and find it utterly impossible. I saw Matt Garrison using all four fingers when he was playing with Gary Husband. Quite astonishing to watch. No slouch! Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted September 27, 2021 Author Posted September 27, 2021 As a guitar finger-picker, I just tried picking four-finger chords and it's easy enough. Trying to play 'September' across all four stings strict one finger pwer string (well thumb and 3) needed a lot of concentration and wasn't fluent! Riffs with three fingers are easy enough and can get pretty fast. Quote
Rich Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Unfortunately both my pinky fingers are too arthritically knackered to be of any use at all 1 Quote

StickyDBRmf Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 A tuner gets me close, where I used to have to tune "in the room", and I played fretless, so it was a harmonics thing. Now it's that f*cking Stick and I have to to tune to IT, then hope the guitarist is decent with an ear, because it's the ear that matters. Quote
