Nail Soup Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Been listening to a few recommended tracks after Alan sad passing. Indeed those do have great bass sound and presence with the aforementioned drive. Occurred to me that the guitar parts in Quo allow 'space for the bass' - generally using a pair of Telecasters. Quote
gazhowe Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 RIP Alan. BTW - really poor effort from Sky News this morning by reporting his passing with a video of Quo with Rhino Edwards on bass. 😐(No disrespect to Rhino) 1 Quote

chris_b Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Sad news. We supported them several times in the early 70's. They were a force of nature and Jeez were they loud! 1 Quote

I attribute my hearing loss to seeing them in 1972 and standing in front of one of the pa stacks. The harmonica in Railroad caused me pain and I couldn't hear properly for days. Saw them loads of times back then - as you excactly say, a force of nature. 1 Quote
