help and advice on an EUB

hi

i have been playing bass for about 3-4 years now (fretted) and i have recently joined a jazz band not far from my home. i have been enjoying playing my bass there but i was recently also introduced to an upright bassist and i though it sounded awsome so i was wonderin if you could tell me wether it plays the same as my normal bass or like a fretless and if you could recommend a first EUB for me and also one that ill be able to keep for a good amount of time.

DB plays completely different - you end up approaching it in a different way.

Not sure why you would go EUB route if it's the "proper" upright that you like. Perhaps you could borrow or rent one to see how you get on with it?

thanks guyl but the person with the upright has had a stagg electrc upright bass i think i understand that my playing style would change as its upright but i was wondering what else would change
