I have gone light weight short scale: 26.5" for cramped rehearsals & 30.5" for gigs

dmccombe7
Been looking for a good P bass and was looking at Vintera P bass but couldn't get the one i wanted and came across these basses on BD site and i'm very interested. The reviews on them come across as excellent basses. How are you finding yours now that you've had them a few months. Dave

I've gigged my P bass twice now & it sounds fantastic,my band really like it. The J I've only played at home so far but it is a superb Jazz bass in every way. I have owned dozens of Fender & clones there of over the last 4 decades & personality I think these are the best ones I've had in all that time. Build quality is second to none, superb finish & so playable with lovely necks. They both balance really well both on the strap & on the knee probably mostly due to the light weight Hipshot tuners, which hold tune perfectly. I love the roasted maple necks too,it really brings the wood grain out. If you are wanting a really nice P or J I definitely reccomend these, massively better then the Vintera P I had or indeed any MIA,AVRI,MIJ or an Overwater J bass I once had. Dave Dave,I would highly recommend Mike Lull as a P alternative...I have the 30" scale (pic above) but they have a number of scale/fret config's, the build, ergonomics & sound is excellent....good luck.... Should have added they are light & have the option of a slightly smaller body size!
dmccombe7
I've actually just bought a Fender P 50's reissue with maple neck and its pretty much what i was looking for. It was a great price from a fellow BCer so cant complain there. Dave

They are several times the price of a Modern Vintage bass though 😁
Dood
I’ve video reviews of both the J bass (fretless) and P bass coming. I really liked the P!

I'd have taken the covers off and run home with it immediately. I'd have maybe liked a little more mid honk in the pickups for a more pronounced mwah, but I just reached for my amp EQ anyway, The tone and build quality of these basses is very good.

I totally agree I couldn't be happier ☺ I'm really looking forward to your reviews, especially on the P bass as it is my actual bass you reviewed 😁
