Harley Benton Airborne Pro wireless

My HB wireless system arrived today from Thomann

I went for the Airborne Pro 5.8ghz version

Foot tuner built in which works well

Granted its not the most robust design but if you look after your gear this would work and last just fine

Great design and ability to charge the transmitter in the docking place is a well thought out idea

Ok great as it is I think I will stick with trusty cable “ old school “

Ive decided to sell it instead of sending it back to Thomann.

Tuner works very well I hasten to add !

It’s now on EBay for £85.00 shipped, a few quid loss to scratch an itch !

What didn't you like? The whole wireless experience or was it that particular device?

Just don’t like the wireless experience

The HB is a great bit of kit for sure but I guess I’ve used a cable for so long now it felt odd without !

😂  i'm the exact opposite. I had to use a cable at the last gig after about 10 years of wireless and it felt very strange!

I'm the same. I've been wireless for about three years now. I hate being trussed up with cables.

Maybe I will keep it and see how I feel after using it more

Do find the transmitter a bit “ where should I park it” so it doesn’t flap about .. anyone using it on a PBass ?

Where do you park yours ?

I am the same with that - I can't stand using a cable, it feels too odd, its in the way etc. I would be very reluctant to go back to a cable it has to be said!

Why not send it back to thomman if you don't want it?

I had already removed the screen plastic protector so not able to return.

Going to keep it I’ve decided and see how it performs when I next gig

What is the battery life like on these?

I know you can recharge between sets, but that's only a fifteen minute top up.

Will it happily do three hours in one hit?

Re the transmitter dongle. How about making a clip to clip it to your strap and using a very short cable, like the old school wireless' used to do?

It's quoted as up to 5 hours on the Thomann website. We regularly rehearse for 3 hours plus, and I've never managed to run it flat. So I've got no reason to believe this isn't true.

Yep that could be done with an in-line Jack connector and short lead and a strap holster of sorts

I'd just make up a lead just the right length with a female connector at one end.

Christmas is approaching and the usual "What do you want?" will be being asked. This could be a candidate.

I thought the same. If it ever annoys me sticking out of the bass, it's easy enough to make a little pouch to fix to the strap, and a short m/f Jack lead.

About three?  I think I can add a zero on the end of that one!  I rehearse with a wireless setup too - I'm just not happy being 'tethered' to anything!!!
