Anyone stripped a stingray body? I’m guessing it’s polyurethane! Heat gun/chemicals, any help would be appreciated.
cheers

I’ve stripped a few jazz bodies which were poly and imo, the heat gun is the best tool, don’t hold it on for too long, you will see when it starts to bubble and just scrape it off, wear a mask or do it outside if you can 🙂

I’ve stripped a few bodies and then refinished them. The last one, I decided to use the existing finish as the base coat.

that worked very well, and saved me the bother of hours with a heat gun. Lightly sanded poly takes undercoat very well.

Then it’s out with the heat gun!

Think it’ll leave ‘scorching’?
