Converting music notation from pdf to XML?

Can anyone recommend a good pdf to XML converter so I can scan sheet music and then convert into XML so I can edit it in Staffpad?

I only have a few sheets to do so a free option would be very good.

If you want to PM me I have Sibelius etc which includes a PDF to XML converter (I think). 

 

That said, my experience is that it wasn't hugely accurate but if you're going to edit afterwards anyway, a few notes here and there shouldn't be a problem.

Just spotted that you can import PDF in the free 'Muse Score' notation application, may be worth a go.
