fleabag
Myself and mrs bag are off to this blues weekender fest in Bournemouth in December . Its run at several locations but this one happens to be at the Heathlands Hotel. 3/4 days of it. I dont mind a bit of blues, and of course there's variations at the indoor fest. Acoustic, trad, rock etc. 3 or 4 days maybe a bit much for me but mrs bag is a blues addict, so i'm happy to go. Evening nosebag and brekky included for the duration of the stay. Booze prices are reasonable too, which is extra, natch Anyone else heard of this Boogaloo bunch ? I'd never heard of this mob till mrs bag informed me and asked if i'd go along. We all love her. Take your bass and join in Robin Bibi's jam nights.
Steve Browning
I've played at many a Boogaloo do, including this very venue. Monica and her team organise things very well and the food there is very good. Every day finishes with a blues jam and the bands that are appearing are encouraged to participate. Maybe take a bass and have a play. Tell Monica it would be much better with Teed Up among the bands playing!!
fleabag
Good feedback. Yes, Monica is the lady mrs bag did the booking with. I've seen Robin Bibi in my local before, as a 3 piece, and he was awesome

Jack_Stroud_Bass
Yes, these are great festivals and run very, very well. We've gigged with a few of the names there, Greg Coulson and The Milk Men and they're both fab acts. Me and my bunch are doing the one in Torquay next year Hope you have a fab time - it sounds like you will.
Mickeyboro
I live in Bournemouth. Is there an option to see the artists but not book a room?
fleabag
Not sure on that Mickey - their phone number is in my first post, so could be worth giving them a ring
chris_b
I'm playing with Robin this Saturday and I expect he'll be jumping on the tables and walking through the audience several times during the evening.

Downunderwonder
The Toorak Hotel sounds like it should belong next to an opal field in deepest outback Australia.
Steve Browning
It does sound exotic. I was disappointed not to see herds of wilderbeest sweeping majestically across the plains. Still, it was Torquay.
