hi again for sale my great fodera standard special

is a great bass but due to recent new bass have to leave , for trade i will take only a alleva coppolo plus cash or stenback 5 or some custom fodera .

As far i know (owned an Emperor 5), it can't be adjusted to 18mm spacing. The thing is - you should be able to move the outer two strings (g and b) 2 milimeters towards eachother to achieve 18mm, which is not possible due to the saddle width.

To avoid this, it's very important to not open a new package for about 24-48 hours, to let the bass slowly acclimate inside, at least during the winter, or after a long flight. It's hard, but it's worth the wait.

 

Reason for this happening, is the wood expanding faster than the finish, leaving it no time to adapt, and then the finish cracks.

 

It's only cosmetic damage in the finish but a shame to have.. Fodera's satin finish are very sensitive to this :( 

 

Just thought people should know more about this to avoid it!
