Somehow eBay just hasn't been the same since this guy stopped repeatedly listing his refin 1974 Jazz bass...
I see he still hasn't got a refund then.

Sometimes you just gotta put it down to experience. If the price he's quoting is any indication of what he paid for it, he should have done his homework before shelling out in the first place :)

I was told he bought it from this high profile vintage dealer: http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZtune_o_matic
Who is VERY expensive - but does have a good reputation for selling genuine parts & very nice vintage instruments (at the highest prices).
Still I would have thought he would have offered to take the bass back if he really did deserve his 'Power Seller' award....?
Who knows what went on? And this guy sure doesn't seem to want to 'let it lie'!
But like you say Beedster - it still has to always be 'buyer beware' - which is why I would never buy an expensive bass without seeing it first. Too big a gamble.

OH JOHNTY !....LOOK WHAT WEVE FOUND HERE!
Seems to be trying to make out, it was something he stumbled across in the attic???..................cash in the attic!............ i think not!
This is an old eBay favourite - he continually posted it for weeks on end - there's history to it & a big dispute with the US dealer he bought it from...
He does it as some sort of protest. All a bit sad really.

As you probably know, I got hit by a US dealer. You just have to realise - as I do now - that the bass market place is littered with dodgy traders and the best bet is to only buy items you've seen. I lost out by about £900, although I do still have a bloody nice sounding and playing Flea, albeit one that I won't be able to sell unless Modulus replace the body (which is the option I'm pursuing at present). Likewise, this guy still has a bloody nice '74 Jazz, albeit one that isn't worth what he paid for it either. Sh*t happens, but he and I have both got great basses and we've both learned a valuable lesson. He should, IMHO, just let it be now or it's gonna start to become an obsession :)
