Long or Super-Long?

I bought a new bass which allows for through-body stringing and whilst making the purchase took advantage of a 4-for-3 offer on Rotosound 77s. It's only after receipt I remembered I might need Super-Long scale strings. So, my question is, on a 34" scale bass, can I string through body with just long scale strings?

GHS suggests using their long scale plus strings in 35" scale basses as well as if you use a string through body bridge.

I can get away with long strings on everything except the longest string - a D on must of my basses.

I fitted standard RS66s to my BB424 which is string through, and the fit was perfect.

Thanks Ricky, that's helpful. It occurs to me too that with your headstock being 4 on a side it's more of a feat to get your E to fit than for me with my 2 on a side headstock.
