Well what a week firstly my bass pickup went wonky donkey then my car went bang and is financially it is to much to fix even if I do it myself  and to top it off last night the cooker decided to die and it is only just out of guarantee :(

 

I must be cursed lol

Yeah, you have my sympathy, I've had weeks like that. There are days weeks even years in our lives when the pile of dung just seems to get deeper, you can't see a way out and everyone just seems to want to add to the pile. Just have to think 'This too will pass' put your head down, do what you can and not be afraid to ask/accept help.

Double check this - to there is sale of goods act that gives you additional rights way beyond a shop warranty.

That's painful.... the crows often come in flocks... Definitely check the Sale of Goods Act as good have to be of 'merchantable quality' so something like a cooker is expected to last for years without issue. That means manufacturers can't just hide behind 'warranty expired'.

I used the exhaust for a neck but doesn't sound right need to practice on my fretless playing lol

If it's anything like NZ's it has real teeth that are easily brought to bear. You only have to mention you know your rights under sale of goods act and they will cave. They have a schedule for expected lifespan on durable goods. TV's and fridges are something like 5 years trouble free operation regardless of the 2 year warranty. 9/10 they will give you a new one to get you out of their hair.
