After much consideration and having a noodle on it tonight I have decided to keep it, I waited a long time to find one in this condition and fallen back in love again...sorry to those that showed interest

Really lovely and unique basses; these were in top-end boutique territory back in the day - I love mine (got a fretless 450B too).    The fact that this still has the rather fragile walnut pickup rings proves it’s been well looked after.

Heres one in action with a certain Mr Geldof:

Yes I remember seeing that for the first time on TOPTP, loved it then...

The scale is not 34 inches on Kramer aluminium necks basses, but 33 3/4". On The Duke, it's even smaller at 30 1/2".

And it's ebonol, not ebanol, to be really precise, the same material as bowling balls.

But I'd like to know what is a German carved wood ?!?

I sold all my Kramer's last year and the year before.

GLWYS.

German Carve; pronounced step (concave) carve on the edge of an instrument…a la Rickenbacker/Fano/Ibanez Artist and Kramer 650b

😉

Never heard this term before, and I'm into instruments since more than 40 years now... Everyday is a school day. Thanks again @AndyTravis.

not sure what the origins are, possibly from a style of German Double Bass/Violin making?

Or possibly some marketing nonsense from someone like Rickenbacker/Mosrite 😂

Stunning bass..Just like to say one of my favourite all time bass lines in the verse of Rat trap..Pete Briquette holds down the most infectious simplistic groove!

GLWTS👍🙂

I’ve heard it termed a “German rim”, but I really wouldn’t reccomend Googling that......🤔
