JosephMartyn
The answer may already be on here somewhere...but can anyone help with what the controls are on an old Arpege? And how the 2 jack sockets are used? Thankyou! 👍

ped
Here you go! Great bass, looks like it’s in nice condition. Please share more pictures Vigier Arpege Brochure 1983.pdf
thodrik
I was just midway doing my own 'calling Ped' post but was beaten to it. Looks like a cracking bass. The old style Vigier bridges look really cool! 1
Hellzero
Very nice, with the first generation awesome Benedetti pickups. Just in case it's confusing, the jack on the table puts the pickups out directly after the 3-way switch (or on some models, it's only the bridge pickup), which means no volume or EQ controls.
ped
And be careful when you pull the knobs as I’ve had several where the knob comes off completely 😂 still amazing though and typically French 1

I've had it for ages but just haven't been playing, sadly I hope it doesn't come to it...but I may be having to sell!
ped
Nice, didn't expect it to be a Delta Metal fretless too! Lovely thing.

When I'm playing bass guitar it's mostly slap so ideally I'm on the lookout for a fretted Vigier Arpege...maybe a 5 string...but I bet that's pretty rare?! 😮
Hellzero
Wow wow wow, an original Delta Metal fretless, that's quite rare. I've owned a few Vigier with this Delta Metal fingerboard and they sound really great. That said I'm delighted by my Le Fay Remington Steele 6 RHT CC CAP Big Block (what a name 🤣 ) that is a 6 strings fretless with a stainless steel fingerboard.

itu
You can check Vigier's pages (serials). A 5-string Passion or Arpege is very high on my list, so is a Delta metal fretless. I have two series II Passions.
ped
I had a five string fretless Arpege but they never did delta metal fingerboards on the fives.

Don't think I've ever seen an S2 five string.
ped
There are no series 2 five strings (full graphite neck)

That's why my wife offered me the Le Fay as I've always wanted a sixer fretless with a metal fingerboard. Lucky man I am, I know. 😉
wright/watt
Oh Man!! Wow!! Stunning Arpege, series 1 bass you have there..🙈😃 The older Vigiers in my humble opinion, just ooze class, and this fretless looks like it has come out a time capsule from the eighties, fantastic condition.. Love the brass nut on this, goes very well with the delta metal fingerboard!! I will just say it once more, WOW!!👍 😃 Edited November 13, 2021 by wright/watt
