LITTLEWING
Looking at pulling the trigger on a brand new MIM P bass Player series. Everything all basically 100% straight out of the cardboard delivery box?
Lozz196
Good basses, no need to upgrade anything on them unless you want to. The only thing I do as a matter of course is swap the electrics to a KiOgon loom/US Fender standard and add a Hipshot Triple string retainer (to stop potential A string rattle). I’m picking an MIM Precision up on Wednesday 😀

Be interested in a Kiogon loom - What sort of price am I looking at? Edited November 15, 2021 by Bassybert
Gareth Hughes
I’ll second Lozz there. Mine is a joy to play - satin feel on the neck is just heavenly. Sound is awesome. It’s a bass I genuinely get excited playing - just damn fun.

They’re great, CTS Pots, Switchcraft Jack, plus being solder less they’re both easy to install and easy to troubleshoot.
Bassybert
Thanks a lot @Lozz196 will get in touch with them soon to order one 😀
Guest
I’ll just add a note to agree with everyone else who posted so far. I love mine, was prepared to mod it but no need. Performs well and sounds great. Best Precision neck to date.
Burns-bass
Wonderful basses. I found the tuners to be a little lightweight, but other than that no complaints! Was beautifully made.
Dood
Just a question to those who own a Player P. Will the headstock take the standard Fender plate tuning keys? Like the Schaller / Hipshot / Gotoh 70's plate style? Or even the Gotoh Resolute GB640, which are stunning tuning keys. All will need new screw holes drilling, but will the plates fit side by side on the Mimsy headstock?
Lozz196
The Hipshot HB7s are a direct drop-in, exact same size as the Fender ones so no mods required, fit side by side same as stock

That's good news. I love the look of the old (pre 76) 70's and definitely the reverse Kluson style keys and wondered if they'd fit too, but maybe not. I might have to save my pennies for a Nate Mendel!
ead
Apols in advance for the self-promotion but I have a set of essentially new HB7s listed on here atm.
uk_lefty
I've only got the neck of a Fender player P but it's a lovely, lovely neck.
