Burns-bass
Hello! I’ve got a Bose soundbar which has done me well for about 6 years, but its not powerful enough now so I was a replacement. Requirements are that the sound quality is good, the interface has simple to use and it’s not garish. I’m looking mid-price (up to £500) and would prefer to buy from decent guys (Richer Sounds) not evil box shifters (Amazon). Happy to take advice form those with experience. WinterMute
Honestly, I'd save a bit more and go for the B&W Zeppelin, best sounding system under a grand by some way IMO. https://www.bowerswilkins.com/en-gb/wireless-speakers/zeppelin
Light Grenade
Just picked up a Denon DHT-S416 for the telly, but I've been using it for checking mixes and listening to music too. It's really good and mighty powerful. Decent, preset based tone controls available via the remote. Very good bass response, treble is a hair sharp if I'm being pedantic, but nothing ridiculous. Easy to set up, no faff. Bit of space required for the bar and accompanying subwoofer, but it was well worth the £279 from Richer Sounds. https://www.denon.com/en-gb/product/sound-bars/dht-s416 Edited November 17, 2021 by Light Grenade

This is in my budget range as I won’t pay VAT and can buy from Richer too.
WinterMute
If you want to go completely mad, these things are utterly awesome... you do need 2 for proper stereo though... That'll be €4000, thanks. https://www.devialet.com/en-eu/phantom-speaker/phantom-i/ They have a budget range too, a snip at €2200 a pair... https://www.devialet.com/en-eu/phantom-speaker/phantom-ii/ Edited November 17, 2021 by WinterMute
binky_bass
Get an Ashdown B-Social. You can pick them up for £200ish second hand as and when one pops up for sale. Fantastic sound quality for anything Bluetooth, and also doubles as a bass practice amp with built in wireless. I have two of these little gems and wouldn't be without them. IMO these are hugely underrated and one of the best things Ashdown has put out.

PMT have one in B-Stock for £380, but there is a code to get another 10% off. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/b-stock-ashdown-b-social-stereo-desktop-bass-amp-in-white

This is the latter.

Yes, but you get to keep the great speakers in the settlement...
naxos10
We have had the Sonos Beam for a couple of years and that has good sound and is highly rated by others (and available from Richer Sounds). You may be able to pick up the Version 1 for around £349 or go with Version 2 which has Dolbby Atmos for £429.
