MXR 281 Thump?

Has anyone tried the MXR 281 Thump preamp pedal?

Looks promising but I can't find a review of it apart from the biased owner reviews (all good though).

Thinking of asking Santa for one. (If I keep off his naughty list)!

Have you checked out the review on YouTube by Steve Lawson? Although a biased owners review he is a bit of a pedal guru.

I haven't tried it and thought it looked good  - especially as I'm on a mini size pedal GAS attack right now MXR make some of my favorite pedals. Unfortunately though, there seem to be clipping issues with active Basses  https://www.talkbass.com/threads/mxr-m281-thump-bass-preamp.1443178/
