EJWW Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Love it when someone reveals a previously unknown musical talent. I've never heard of Ian Fergusson until now but as well as doing the weather on a local BBC station he likes to smash his favourite Ernie Ball's back door in in his spare time. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=919436542006592 Apart from Martin Bashir are there any other well known bass player broadcasters? 9 1 Quote

bertbass Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 How about Mark Kermode, does he count. He presents the film review on BBC news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no6_SlABApw 4 Quote

Cool stuff and he is, as far as I can tell from the video, playing an EBMM Stingray Classic, natural finish with a maple fingerboard. I have been trying to find and buy one of these for ages, no luck so far 😞 1 Quote

I’d like to play with the whole of her. I’d register as a charity and donate to it and also to her choice of charity - which is only fair unde the circumstances 1 Quote
EJWW Posted November 19, 2021 Author Posted November 19, 2021 I don't like the way this serious and important discussion has developed... Quote
Guest Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) I seem to have this recollection that Steve Coogan plays bass, but having formed the thought in my mind can find little about it on the interweb. Does anyone have any more info? Edited November 19, 2021 by Bassfinger Distracted by Corrie Quote

Does anyone have any more info? He certainly plays a mean air bass...especially in static homes. 1 Quote

Daz39 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Owain Wyn Evans; NW BBC weather chap just did a 24hr drumathon. He’s been out as a drummist on radio for a few years. Quote
Reggaebass Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Ian has got a nice groove going there, that’s great Quote

Maybe he then decides to sell it, well, to me 😉 Quote

Guest Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 He does indeed. Some kind of '54 P style bass with mudbucker type puckups, IIRC. Quote
Daz39 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 And Martin Clunes plays bass too. He had a turn during a gig on one of his Islands tv shows, I think it was somewhere in the Pacific. Quote
