Love it when someone reveals a previously unknown musical talent.

I've never heard of Ian Fergusson until now but as well as doing the weather on a local BBC station he likes to smash his favourite Ernie Ball's back door in in his spare time.

Apart from Martin Bashir are there any other well known bass player broadcasters?

Cool stuff and he is, as far as I can tell from the video, playing an EBMM Stingray Classic, natural finish with a maple fingerboard. I have been trying to find and buy one of these for ages, no luck so far 😞

I’d like to play with the whole of her. I’d register as a charity and donate to it and also to her choice of charity - which is only fair unde the circumstances

I seem to have this recollection that Steve Coogan plays bass, but having formed the thought in my mind can find little about it on the interweb. Does anyone have any more info?

He certainly plays a mean air bass...especially in static homes.

With proper thumb protection. Respect is due.

Ian has got a nice groove going there, that’s great

I am still tempted to recruit some random people and pay them to write to Ian, telling him how awful his Stingray sounds. Maybe he then decides to sell it, well, to me 😉

Phill Jupitus used to play, don't know if he still does.

Anyone able to confirm or deny?

He does indeed. Some kind of '54 P style bass with mudbucker type puckups, IIRC.
