I like the blue/green best by a narrow margin.

Those knobs look a bit magenta...

I’m trying another blue/green as I am also leaning this way… maybe even with a black base sanded back then blue, and then a green highlight

Sounds good.

Just for completeness, here's the other colours as a single set with the same dilution in the sun:

Could I have a jazz body with the first five of the top row as diagonal stripes please? Maple neck with the headstock in the pale brown 👍

Enough is enough.

I can’t keep staining bits of offcut.

So, here it is with the first coat of Phthalo Blue…

That's enough pthalic symbols, Ed.

Did you sneak a dose of black in first?

No, I decided against it, as the black experiment showed a lot of contrast, and I preferred the straight blue then green..

Ooh, quite teal, I approve. The covers and knobs look very nice in situ, the finish makes the difference in cream tone much less obvious.

Yes, I’m quite liking it. It’s about the right balance of teal now, and there’s plenty of contrasting blue and green areas. It’s quite shimmery when wet, so I reckon the finishing oil will bring that out nicely.

Will be interesting to see how it looks with some oil on.

Well, it feels like a satin finish would suit this colour better than gloss.

So I’m considering a good old Danish oil finish. Can’t quite make my mind up tho and might still try the Crimson high build oil.

For my Tele I went for pur tung oil, which dries really slowly.

In the end I have used 'restoration wax' (clone of renaissance wax)  to give a satin finish.

Can't put it together properly until I dig out and set up my decent soldering station.

Caved in and ordered the Crimson Oil.

Minor hold period whilst I wait for it to arrive.

Neck is looking nice tho - it’s had quite a few coats of Danish Oil now and it’s getting close…
