I need to order some more bits as well. I need a set of black 1/2” Hipshot Ultralites, a BBOT black bridge, and then sundries - string tee, strap buttons, pots and wire.

Finally, the oil has arrived!

1 bottle of Penetrating Oil and 1 bottle of High Build Oil.

Onwards and upwards as they say. I think it will take 3 coats of penetrating oil to get the body sealed ready for the high build oil. First coat is on and curing:

Second coat now on.

I’ve also put a coat on the neck - which was already sealed by the Danish Oil, and it’s taken on a lustre already.. so that’s hopeful!

Progress has been slow due to family etc. but it’s back on now.

I’ve now put 4 coats of penetrating oil on, and I’m onto the high build oil. Gave the body a rub down with steel wool after the penetrating oil coats.

Here it is after the rub down and before high build oil:

I don’t plan on adding any cheese to it…

I might play a bit of cheese on it!!

I gave it a 1200 grit wet and dry sanding with oil yesterday and it’s currently curing so little action at the moment I’m afraid. Should be another update in a day or two
