Orher way around. A lower number = higher sensitivity.

Thanks for all your advice and help, stacking gain on top of each other isnt a perfect solution to the output issue but it gets the job done with minimal hiss

There a difference in line levels that are being used.

with my SVPCL feeding a Crown power amp I inserted a BBE Maximizer between the preamp output and the power amp input. Specifically going into the Bbe through the 1/4” inputs and coming out the XLR outputs. That line level shift fixes the volume issue even if the effect is bypassed.
