Proper validation. Right there.

I was about to blame an error on the site, but I stand by my 3 duplicate posts, I think they actually convey my thoughts quite well...

One thing I never understood about these wood cavity covers is how do they match so perfectly when

one considers the routing around the perimeter which must remove a minimum of 1/8" around the perimeter

on all sides?

I cut the cavity cover using a laser. I did this before glueing the wood to the body.

You can get router cutters that are 0.5mm diameter, and I used to cut covers using these before I got the laser. It’s slow going with such a small cutter, and requires numerous passes!

Build tech beyond Electric Wood's cowshed there!  Lasers indeed 😯

Though one of my Wals has a black plastic cover and the other a home made aluminium one ( the original was cracked and I reckoned ally would be better shielding; it is, but it makes no odds ), so not essential to the sound 😉

They were quite reasonably priced once.  You just have to be old.  Anyway, looks like you can make your own!

I too remember when they were affordable and you didn’t have to wait 4 years for one! Don’t ever sell them!
