Maude
Well this has just popped up for sale five minutes from me and I'm intrigued. I've never seen one before. It's a 30" scale, Stratocastor bass. Tele headstock rather than a Strat style strangely though. Most punters couldn't tell a guitar from a bass and this would really hammer the final nail in. I'm quite intrigued as to how it sounds with its three single coils. 4
Lozz196
I looked at maybe have one of these for overseas gigs, certainly be easier than carting a full scale bass through airports if a hard case could be found for it.
Maude
My, completly stupid, fear is that guitarists will think I want to be in their gang. I'm a bassist and proud of it. 😉
jd56hawk
Not too many three-pickup basses around. I liked this when it first came out, not enough to buy, but..

Clarky
Don't need to look far for the original concept (*cough* Stanley Clarke) https://www.guitarworld.com/news/stanley-clarke-releases-long-awaited-strat-style-bass-the-spellcaster

It's got twin rail pickups so humbuckers. I'm still interested to try it but the seller has just put offers, rather than an actual price. No idea what it's worth, but they are only £375. Although after looking on Retrovibe's website a plan might be developing. 🤔
Sambrook
I have the Retrovibe Tele bass, with the same neck and bridge pickup. I've changed the neck pickup for an Artec rail humbucker, and it sounds wonderful (TI flats, of course). I can happily recommend them...
neepheid
That tickled me - not enough to buy one but it gave me a chuckle If we're talking 3 pickup basses then apart from still missing my Gibson G-3 (original, not modern "tribute" - that one can get in the bin) - I do quite like the look of the Reverend Triad... Bassfinger
I like the Retrovibe stuff. Its a shame they do so few long scale basses.
Paul S
Plus David's customer service is first class. I had a couple of issues with the little bass I bought a few weeks ago and he has been brilliant throughout. Can't recommend him highly enough.
Maude
He's now added a price of £355. I'm out 🙂 Edited December 6, 2021 by Maude
BigRedX
It might be short scale, but the bridge position will mean that it won't be much shorter than a typical 34" scale bass.
