GGM
Anyone else just loving Bartolini pickups? Had some in my P bass for a while and got some in my jazz last week, use it Friday night and blown away by how great they sound!
chris_b
I put some Barts on my 4 string Fender Precision. They were a significant improvement on the original pickups. I had the Bartolini option on my Lakland 55-94D. Great tone. For many years Barts were the standard equipment for most boutique basses. They have more competition these days, but I haven't heard a bad set of Bart pickups yet.
peteb
I have Barts on both of my passive Fenders (Precision & Jazz bases).
Bassman68
I have a Bart MM in my ‘87 Stingray 2 band eq. IMO it provides just about the right level of mids, sometimes missing from the eq? Set both the bass & treble to halfway allows some wonderful midrange ‘honk’ through?
WinterMute
I have a Bart pup and pre-amp in my "SR5" fretless (MM neck OLP body) and it sounds really good, the pre is very effective.
Sibob
Yup, love them, best in the business IMO. I have US Barts (ie not MK1's etc) in my Elrick and Lakland 5 strings. Also waiting on an order of their B-Axis P/J pickups to go in my Lakland 4 string. Si
Boodang
I love barts and feel they have an organic tone. For my Sei bass I had a custom triple coil MM Bartolini made.... 2 live coils and a dummy coil for humcancelling, and the ability to switch series or parallel. Originally had an active preamp onboard but like the raw sound of the pickup so much I took it out. And I have an 8S P which sounds fantastic on my fretless.
