CPCustomdubwise
A huge influence on me from the very beginning; riddims I still find jaw-dropping to this day. He was a giant of a bass player, they were a breathtaking rhythm section and the world seems a bleaker place today. Rest easy, Robbie.
TheGreek
Saw Sly & Robbie and Black Uhuru several times during the 80s and 90s. He was never note perfect but, man, his Riddim and feel were spot on. Another of my inspirations passes away. RIP sir.
Sonic_Groove
He also turned his hand to esoteric Jazz fusion (which Wikipedia doesn't seem to know about!)... RIP Robbie
Rayman
One of the reasons I started playing bass, and definitely why I love simple, deep grooves. I've never been a fan of basslines that are complicated and fussy, and Robbie is one of the reasons why.
Romeo2
a giant, a massive influence, and I don't even like reggae that much, will be blasting some old school sly and robbie tunes tonight

The whole Night Clubbing album is superb, as is Warm Leatherette. Both have been in my collection since the 80's. Very tasty work on both CD's by Sly and Robbie. They're also both on GJ's Living My Life

JellyKnees
Only just heard about this today, very sad news, was a huge fan of his playing with Sly, especially back in the 80s. Rythym killers was fantastic. Saw them with the taxi gang in Manchester in about 89, the air was heady and the bass did throb mightily. RIP dude.
Misdee
One of the greatest of all time in my opinion. An iconic bass guitarist. Such a clever musician and such a joy to listen to over the years.
