Here's my 1991 Stingray 5 in natural finish, rosewood fingerboard and birdseye maple neck. All original, with alnico pickup.

This bass is incredible. Killer B string.

It's a lightweight as far as Stingray 5s go, weighing in at 9.3lbs (me doing the with/without thing on the digi bathroom scales) and balances perfectly on the strap.

It is genuinely 'road worn' as you will see from the photos. I took this as a good omen because to me this shows that it's been played a lot due to it being a bloody good one. It is. An excellent (and early) example. It has those friendly feels of an old seasoned bass. Really easy to play. 

Everything works as it should, the neck is rock solid, feels amazing and is unblemished. Set up is perfect, no fret buzz.

I've owned it for about a year and a half now, aiming to use it as it was intended when things begin to pick up again. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to play in bands or even jams for the foreseeable due to family commitments and I'm not rich enough to justify seeing a grand just hanging on the wall. Hopefully it will find a good home here with someone. I'm asking for £1050 which is what I paid for it.

 

Local pickup (Cardiff) preferred although I  am prepared to ship it at the buyer's expense.

*I think the hardcase is original but not entirely sure. It's a perfect fit anyway, though I don't have keys for it.

Love it! Seriously, if I didn't already have mine..... - but I'll certainly vouch for the quality. And that Birdseye Maple neck/headstock is gorgeous. GLWTS. :)

My wife has kindly given my head a wobble for me, reiterating how far overdrawn we both are, Christmas is coming,  we have 2 kids,  and all that jazz!

Ok, it's out of my hands now which makes it easier...

I'm withdrawing this for now. I do need the money but I know deep down that in the long run, I will find it very difficult replace. 

I may put it up again at some point but right now I'm keener to not live with any regrets!

Lol I was about to put two basses up for sale to fund this too😁

I'm confused....for sale???

 

I'd say this is well underpriced considering it's 30 years old and still in excellent condition. Similar 4 strings are selling for significantly more. If I had any money I'd be tempted.

Totally understand! I had Covid 4 weeks ago, and I still feel rotten. I'd still very much,love this bass 😁
