AndyTravis Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Always looked at these and thought “want”. But never been the time. Recently sold a Spector so missing that neck through, active, fancy wood bit… Haven’t plugged it in as I was involved in a ridiculous situation at work today involving mud and being punched and kicked… Anyhow. It needs a tweak - but acoustically is very much like an old Warwick I had, but feels lovely. I haven’t plugged it in - because, frankly…wine has been opened and I’m really bloody sore. Will report back. 17 Quote

Nice It’s a Korean “Toby Pro” - feels great, have just pulled out the Allen keys and made it right for me. shipped with brand new d’addario’s which is handy. Quote
simisker Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) Ah, right. That'll teach me to daytime drink! I've never played one, but I've always thought that Tobias basses were some of the more handsome designs. Really well proportioned; the headstock is a particular highlight. Enjoy! Enjoy! got it playing beautifully… I think it’s worth investment if the pre/pickups aren’t up to much (as reported) 1 Quote
OliverBlackman Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Where do you find all these basses? That’s the best looking Toby Pro I’ve ever seen. Never tried one because I didn’t like the name. Quote

Chris2112 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 That Tobias shape is one of the all time classics. Such an elegant design. Quote
AndyTravis Posted December 10, 2021 Author Posted December 10, 2021 Apart from the basic Epiphone sub brand ones, do they even make Tobias USA anymore? Quote

Pea Turgh Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 That’s exactly like the one I played as a teen in the 90’s but couldn’t afford! When you get bored of it, can you let me know, please?! Quote

Bassassin Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Lovely, that. Always had a little GAS for one, I'm a complete sucker for a through-neck. 1 Quote

The irony here is I passed it up, Andy went for it and then I saw a Violinburst one 2 days later. That gets here Monday. 1 1 Quote
